Ata Marie Te Kōhanga Reo in Tokoroa have opened their new bike track which is designed for very young riders.
The project was possible due to the hard work of the Kōhanga Reo staff who have put together an excellent package of bike track, bikes and bike helmets for their tamariki to ride everyday.
Today was the official opening of the Ruakaka Primary School Bike Track. This day was the result of a lot of work by many different people and community organisations and local businesses. Special thanks to everyone at Ruakaka Primary School and also Bike Northland for making it all happen so quickly and smoothly.
After the speeches and some very special and beautiful singing by the students, as well as a blessing of the track, the the ribbon was cut and the children got to ride their own very special bike track.
Along with the track the school has a large fleet of new bikes and helmets for all the students to use. They will also be getting some cycle skills training.
